What is SSC?

Sane, Safe, Consensual

This is the equivelent of the safe cross code for kinkster enthusiasts. Its a dangerous area that we are treading, so best to have some rules about how to go about a potentially dangerous sport in safety, for all parties concerned.

The general paradigm is pre talk, scene, post talk. An open and honest conversation about what the pair (or more) of ye would like, would want, where hard limits are, where soft limits are what safe words are to be used. As a side note, one needs to have a very good idea of what ye want, or if you dont know, then admit it as such. Self knowledge is key for this sort of stuff. Post talk is good for finding out what went right and what could be improved to be more powerful and erotic next time around.

Safe words are crucial for safe play. The basic idea is that if a submissive or bottom speaks the safe word, all play is stopped. Sometimes the submissive is gagged, so an alternative form of signal could be used, like a golf ball in the hand. if the ball is dropped play stops. Safe words are up to the individuals who are playing, but a general safe word system is the traffic light system. Red is for stop and stop now, yellow is for dont stop but slow down a bit and back off a bit, green is that everything is ok.

Dom/me responsibility - If a person has handed themselves over to you as the dom/me for .. ahmmm. safe keeping, then its up to the dom/me to make sure that every effect is intended. Best to study up on techniques and such like so that effects are made so.

also mention dom responsibilities. also mention about how to find play partners

Rope safety

Tying someone up with safety in mind is not as easy as it might look. Its not just a case of finding a rope and away ye go. Firstly, the rope. Recommendations are that its soft nylon braid, about 12mm to about 20mm or so. Clothes line rope is simply not going to cut it,(if it does, it will be the wrist) as its too thin and made from skin unfriendly material. Neither is pantyhose, as it streches and becomes thinner under tension. when its thinner, it will tend to cut into the skin. Knots in pantyhose are impossible to undo, so its going to have to be cut off. So many reasons for not using pantyhose. So many good safety reasons for having the right equipment for the right job. At a pinch neck ties can be a good subsitute, they are designed to be untied.

limb circulation - its one thing having tight ropes, its another thing having a sub with dead limbs because of lack of circulation. Standard methods of looping a rope around a limb tend to be a bit dangerous, as as the sub pulls on the rope, the loops tighten and would tend to cut off circulation. The best thing is to use a type of loop that does not tighten when its pulled apon. Its up to the responsible dom/me to look after such details.

I'll be adding more as I think of it. :p
